About A-Plus Biology
A-Plus Biology is an independent revision resource for students sitting AQA A-Level Biology (specifications 7401 and 7402). Everything here is written specifically against that specification — not repackaged from a general biology textbook.
Who writes the material
The site is written and maintained by Hacene Benzekri, working through the AQA subject content point by point. Each topic is drafted from the specification statements, then checked against publicly available past papers and examiner reports so that the wording students learn matches the wording that earns marks.
We are not affiliated with AQA and we do not reproduce AQA papers or mark schemes. Where a past paper is referenced, we describe the type of question and the marking points in our own words.
What the library contains
The revision app covers all 8 AQA topics, with roughly 640 flashcards and 170 exam-style questions, plus full-length practice papers with worked answers. The public side of the site hosts 18 free, in-depth revision guides covering enzymes, protein synthesis, homeostasis, cell structure, immunity, respiration and photosynthesis, genetics, required practicals and exam technique.

How content is kept current
Topics are reviewed at the start of each academic year and after each summer exam series, when examiner reports highlight the marking points students most often miss. Corrections reported by students are checked and applied within a few days. New free guides are published through the year and listed on the blog with their publication date.
Advertising and how we fund the site
The revision app is funded by a low-cost subscription. Some free articles carry advertising, which is clearly labelled and always placed within or after the article content — never on sign-in pages, navigation screens or inside the subscriber app. Advertising never influences what we publish.
